The most common problem we are called to on this type of property is not the main roof at all. It is the abutment where an extension or conservatory meets the original building, where the flashing was either poorly formed at the time or has since failed.
Extensions and additions
Where a property has been extended, the junction between old and new is the weak point. Original detailing gets disturbed, lead is often replaced with something cheaper, and the two structures move at slightly different rates.
Properly formed lead at those junctions, with the right allowance for movement, solves it permanently. Sealant does not, and sealant is what we most often find when we get up there.

Water is coming in where my extension meets the house. Why?
Almost always the abutment flashing. Either it was poorly formed when the extension was built, or it has since failed, or someone has sealed over it instead of replacing it. Properly formed lead at that junction, with allowance for movement between the two structures, fixes it permanently.
Can sealant fix a leaking flashing?
It can stop water briefly. It does not fix the underlying problem, it hides the leak while damage develops behind it, and it makes the eventual proper repair more difficult. We would rather do the job once.
My conservatory roof leaks where it meets the wall. Do you cover that?
Yes. That junction is one of the most common failure points on extended property and it is straightforward to put right when it is done properly.
